The Maltese Cross Cuff launched Verdura’s career in the 1930s. While working for Coco Chanel in her jewelry department, Verdura designed the first enameled cuffs for the coutourière using stones from her personal collection. Today, the Dogwood Cuff is inspired by Verdura’s original Maltese Cross Cuffs and the iconic Dogwood Brooch he designed in 1943, memorialized in a painting from the same year by Salvador Dali.
